I have lived in Orlando for 20 years, but I am originally from Tampa by way of Jacksonville, FL. From an early age, I have always loved being active. With that said my fitness journey didn’t start until 2011. In my sophomore year of high school, I weighed 302lbs and decided to change my life. In less than 6 months I went from 302lbs to 185lbs. During that time I played many sports including football, rowing, basketball, and bowling. In 2012 I discovered CrossFit and became obsessed with every aspect of it.
In 2014 I moved to Lakeland Florida, where I was introduced to Olympic weightlifting as a sport. I taught my self everything there was to know about the sport, including “reading” a Russian weightlifting manual from 1982. Armed with a ton of knowledge, I became curious about applying weightlifting techniques to my regular CrossFit Metcons. This curiosity introduced me to competitive Crossfit Programming. I trained my butt off trying to find my weakness, and boy did I. I took my slightly above average skill and made them weapons.
My best lifts are 430lb Front Squat, 565lb Back Squat, 320lb Bench Press, 285lb Snatch and a 342lb Clean + Jerk. My favorite workout is a tie between ‘Heavy DT’ with my pr being 8:36 and one I made up called ‘Long Shot’ 2K row, 25 burpees and max wall balls at 20 lbs with a 12min cap. I love teaching because I understand the frustration that comes with learning. My goal is to remove all the barriers I can so you can have the best time possible learning something new.
