Athlete Of the Month Maurizio Martinez

1. What personal goal motivated you to start Functional Fitness? – gaining a little mass and cardio( at first, i didn’t know crossfit was a sport, I used to look at it as just a gym).
2. What is your favorite part about CFI?– the people, for me that’s crossfit is all about, the people there made me feel welcome, so I love that about training at CFI.
3. How long have you been doing Functional Fitness?– just for a year and a half.
4. Did you play sports as a kid? In high school? College? – before crossfit, I also did a year and a half of cycling, so i was very skinny.
5. What is your favorite movement(s) and why?– clean, pull ups, and muscle ups. Because they require a high level of technique. To get them you need to practice a LOT so they represent hard work.
6. How has Functional Fitness helped you outside of the gym?– being more happy, and having more energy through the day.
7. Tell us about your profession. If you are a student, what are you studying for?– right now i’m in an english coyrse institute, because i still want to learn more the language before a begin the university.
8. Describe a current goal you are trying to reach.– right now in crossfit, i’m trying to reach more cardio, that hasn’t been my best since i started.
